Did You Know:

  • In Massachusetts if a child aged 1-6 has never been screened for lead poisoning they must be screened before entry into a daycare (including group or family owned), pre-kindergarten, or kindergarten.  They do not grant exemptions for this rule but will work with families if there is a hardship.
  • On January 24th, 2023 the FDA drafted new guidelines to set the allowable levels of lead in baby food at 20 parts per billion or less.  The FDA believes this could reduce the  exposure to lead from baby food by 24%-27%.
